Last night on the news there was more coverage of New Orleans and the reporters, this time from britain.Found this elderly lady, already weak from cancer, sitting trapped in a wheelchair, while nearby soldiers from the 5th armoured division no doubt well supplied with food and clean cold water, sat idly by, bored out of their skulls, and refusing to help in any way; as this frail and emaciated woman, sat in 95 degree heat, with nothing to eat or drink, filthy stinking disease ridden water, swirling all around her. I had to ask what kind of country in 2005, allows its citizens to suffer like this!? After witnessing such a blatant and callous disregard for a fragile human life, I could only think of 1 thing to say ...america you disgust me!

That's just horrible! How could they just sit there and watch her suffer like that?

America is the most disgusting country around today.. Those inconsiderable feckers need to die. Good the hurricane hit, they all deserved every bit of it hehehehehe! It's about time god took action.

I agree with almost all the views expressed here and it's a great relief to hear americans being honest about their country...I also read last night that bodies of elderly and disabled people, have been discovered slumped in their wheelchairs!
............................................................
The reason why they were abandoned became startlingly clear .Old, disabled, ill and poor people do not exist to the bush administration..like the nazi regime they would rather eliminate all those who do not conform to his right wing, white supremist, ideals.I was appalled by Condoleeza Rice who openly betrayed her black brothers & sisters, by denying, that the inadequate rescue operation was due to it being a race and class issue...the sooner this crowd of disgraceful neo fascists are thrown out the better.

I think it's really sad as well!!! And just to let you know, the quote was taken from Charles Dicken's book "A Tale of Two Cities." heheheh
*sexy*

So the regime wants to get rid of all who don't conform to their ideals? where are all the concentration camps, where is all the evidence of mass killing of black people? what bullshit. The administration isn't trying to get rid of black people. Condoleeza didn't betray anyone. If Bush was a racist as the black rapper put it, she wouldn't be in the government. The worst thing about a lot of black people is that they try to play the race card at every given opportunity including a hurricane. There maybe racists involved in the rescue effort and they need to be routed out. Unfortunately there racists in most walks of life. Just because a country is rich though, doesn't mean it is going to be perfect and handle everything perfectly. That isn't determined by wealth. America can easily afford to sort the problems caused by the hurricane out, but obviously it will take time. Anyone thinking otherwise is stupid and ignorent. Bush is not entirely to blame, when a party is elected, then the policies are determined by the government in power, not just the leader of it. This is all simple stuff really but the amount of stupid people I've heard saying simple things makes me think it needs pointing out.

This far from bullshit the reason the rescue effort was inadequate comes down to the fact that bush had nothing significant to lose in the south so he delayed evacuation and put a completewly inadequate rescue service who did nothing to prepare for Katrina...contrast that with the incredible reaction to those it by the boxing day Tsunami..their dignity and stoical courage was a lesson to us all. After all, what would it have cost the US, when the 1st warning went out about the expected direction of Katrina, to send a few transport planes to evacuate all those who were unable to leave on their own.. A mere pittance, compared to the 200 billion bush has asked congress to deliver to pay for yet another example of his incredible imcompetence..I wonder just how many disabled, ill and elderly people, are among the 10,000 estimated to have died..no doubt bush will not lose any sleep over their horrible and needless deaths, as he will no doubt write it off as an act of his god..

I do recall saying it would have been better to evacuate all the people before the hurricane hit.

I hear it on the news every day and to me, I like the American government less than I ever did. I'm sorry, but this is just awful. People are in a stadion for several days until finally slowly they decide to help. Shame on them, if you ask me.

Post 12 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Friday, 09-Sep-2005 9:30:02

Absolutely and now they are forcing everyone to leave exactly how do they expect terminally ill and severly disabled people, to up and leave hmm its ludicrous and Katrina has shown america for what it is a cess pit of discrimination and racial/class hatred..shame on them indeed.

They should have kicked everyone out of there before it hit, but I think it was underestimated and only once it happened did they realise how devestating it would be. However, no country would have done a better job, so if the American government is crap, all other governments must by the same logic be crapper. This means that wit live in a world full of crap governments. I bet all who think the American government is crap and have used every opportunity to criticise it, are going to do absolutely nothing but criticise. It's all words no actions from these people so guess what, they don't matter!
